One more Go-Around

Well, it looks like we fell off of the face of 'blog-planet!' However, the Reaves' family has just been super busy!

Caeleigh is 9 1/2 and in 4th grade at St. Malachy.

Kasey Joann is now 19 months old and loving Miss Laina's daycare.

Updates on Caeleigh: She finally learned how to ride a bike this summer!!! Yay for Nana and Poppa teaching her how! Caeleigh also went to a 6-night sleep away camp at Camp Tecumseh! She is getting to be such a big girl. She is very helpful around the house and with her little sister. This past weekend I was very sick with a nasty tummy-bug and she was so helpful with entertaining Kasey while I was "dying" on the bed ;) Caeleigh has paused with guitar lessons as we were just getting too busy! She continues to take tap/ballet classes and sings in the St. Malachy Children's Choir.

Updates on Kasey Jo: Kasey started walking at 13 months and has been RUNNING ever since. She also has about 25 words now...though she still prefers to stay quiet (so much for an SLP for a mom!!). Kasey loves to do puzzles and look at books. She is also loving to write and draw on paper. Health-wise, Kasey is right on track. She did have tubes put in her ears last April. That helped get rid of all the frequent ear infections. She does have a lot of air-borne allergies with pollen, etc...so she takes Zyrtec daily and wow! does it ever help!!!

Updates on Sean: Sean ran the mini-marathon in May during the Indy 500 festivities. He also did 2 Sprint Triathlons this summer. We are super proud of him and his efforts to get and stay in shape!! He looks quite studly if I may say so myself! ;) In August he convinced me to do Twilight Town Trek with him. It was like the Amazing Race in Downtown Indy. We had a bunch of clues and then had to go all over downtown to get our pictures in front of the locations in the clues. We placed 22nd out of about 55 teams (I think?)...it was a blast!! In September Sean decided to leave Main Gate for an opportunity to work in the non-profit world. He is now the Business Services and Membership Director for the brand-new Witham YMCA that is opening next week in Lebanon, IN. This is a great opportunity for him and even though he is SUPER busy...we hope to have it settle down after the opening next week!

Updates on Sarah: Yup...still the Autism Consultant in the Brownsburg Schools and loving it. Not much else to say about me. I did join HIP Fitness in Brownsburg and have lost some pounds. I really enjoy all the ladies and the new classes, especially Zumba!

I hope to do better and try to go back to updating once a month! We'll see! I don't know how those people that blog everyday do it!!

XOXOXO,
Sarah

December Snow

We had our first snow in December. Caeleigh was so excited. She couldn't wait to build a snowman....but by the looks of our backyard, you can tell it was going to be a HUGE snowman...*snicker*...

Enjoy! Boy, oh boy, this snow was nothing compared to what we got in February!! 2 SNOW DAYS!!

XOXO,
Sarah

A Very Merry Christmas!

We had a fabulous Christmas this year! Caeleigh sang in the Christmas Eve mass at St. Malachy with the Children's Choir. Then we went to Brooke and Brad's house for Christmas Eve dinner with the Majors side of Sean's family. Wes and Kasey seemed to enjoy everything and Caeleigh was great at watching the lil' ones!

Christmas morning was hectic! Santa arrived with a guitar and an Easy Bake Oven for Caeleigh and a ball popper and monkey crawling ball for Kasey. Shortly after opening gifts from Santa, Grandma Shirley and Great-Grandma Bonnie came for more presents and breakfast.

After a morning full of presents, Nana, Papa, and Maggie Sugar came over for MORE present opening and a lovely prime rib dinner.

At least one more post to come!
XOXO,
Sarah

December Activities...Caeleigh keeps us busy!

Yeah...I know...so far behind.

We had a busy December. Caeleigh had her last Christmas program at St. Malachy. The third graders were the actors and narrators. Grades K-2 also sing in the program. Caeleigh was "the 14th narrator." Here she is at the podium.

A little snippet of the third grade singing!

Caeleigh as the 14th Narrator!

Caeleigh also had another Christmas Ballet recital. Kasey spent most of that chillin' in her stroller! She enjoyed the music and the dark! I was so tired from a long week at work, I would've like to have relaxed just like lil' Miss Kasey Jo!

Some pictures of Caeleigh dancing...

Here is a snip of her performance!

More posts to come on Christmas with family and other winter happenings...can you tell I'm on day two of snow days?

XOXO,
Sarah

How Time Flies...Yet Again

My girls today! So sweet!
I just can't believe it's been about 2 months since I've last posted. It's been a roller coaster that's for sure.
On September 19, 2009 my wonderful grandmother (Grammie to the grandkids), Elsa Cline passed away unexpectedly. She was 79 years old and had been married to my Grandpa Gene for 61 years. She will be missed dearly. It has been rough on all of us losing both of my grandmas in 6 weeks. Here is my grandma and grandpa with the girls in May.

For the good news....lil Miss Kasey Jo is now able to sit up all by herself without any support! She is now 7 1/2 months old. I need to get some toys for her to sit and play with. I still had Caeleigh's Fisher Price musical ring stacker and she is really enjoying that!
Yes, we are still rockin' leg warmers 80s style! Kasey has just been doing so much. She is babbling a lot and eating most anything. I think the lil thing would much rather eat table food over her baby food! She will follow the fork from plate to my mouth with such intensity. She has sampled baked potato, biscuit, mashed potatos, cracker, cheese spread, applesauce, choc. pudding (just a taste). I just can't believe how big she is getting!

Caeleigh just got her first quarter report card...all A's and B's! I'm so thrilled. Her teacher says she is reading on grade level, needs to work on math fact memorization, and is such a good girl to have in class. Here she is helping me butter, salt and roast the pumpkin seeds this week.

Halloween was a lot of fun. Caeleigh wanted to be a vampire princess. Sean was a "workman" from the Dharma Initiative (a LOST character). Kasey wore a "Marie" from Aristocats sleeper that my good friend and co-worker, Cindy, bought for her.

Here is the crew after pumpkin carving!

Well, need to pay more attention to the Colts game and get more laundry done. Have a wonderful November everyone and a blessed Thanksgiving!
XOXO,
Sarah

Back to School

After being on maternity leave for 5 whole months, I am back to work. I really love my job and I missed my kids so much, so I am glad to be back.

Caeleigh has two weeks of 3rd grade at St. Malachy School under her belt. She is doing great. Her teacher is Mrs. Dunn...and she calls the kids "Scholars" and sometimes talks in a British accent, which Caeleigh thinks is hysterical. Poor kid has two yellow lights this week because of her horrible organization, but we're working on it! She has also started cursive writing and is THRILLED about that!

Kasey Jo has adjusted to her babysitter quite well. She loves Miss Laina, her sitter, and Aunt Na-Na (Nadia is Laina's 19 year old daughter). Kasey is the ONLY girl out of the 5 kiddos Laina watches, but she loves watching those boys!

Kasey is also able to sit up with just a little bit of support from her Boppy pillow. She is 5 1/2 months old. Loves to eat rice cereal mixed with fruit, sweet potatos, carrots, and squash. The fruits we have tried include bananas, pears, applesauce, and out of necessity....PRUNES! I always lay her on a blanket when on the carpet, but she doesn't stay on it very long. She's rolling--slowly--all over the place!

I just love this pic....had to share it with you!

Have a great weekend!
XOXO,
Sarah
